I run a three-monitor setup at home, all Samsung 206BW (16:10) displays from a few years ago. When one failed, I set out to replace it with a 1080p display and settled on this Dell. In short, this has turned out to be a fantastic display with very good clarity, very even backlighting and excellent color reproduction (owing to its IPS panel, vs. the TN panels in my old Samsungs). I was a little concerned about the response time as I also play games, but I notice no ghosting or lag at all during gameplay. Do note, however, that I’m not into twitch games or fighting games where ultra-low lag would be most important. It’s worth mentioning to others considering a purchase that text looked absolutely horrendous on this Dell right out of the box, which is unusual in my experience. It turns out that this was due to the monitor’s “Image Enhance” feature which comes turned on by default. Turn this feature off immediately, then calibrate both color and ClearType text (if on Windows) and you should have an excellent picture.

I’ve had this monitor for a few months now and I really recommend it. Short review: If you’re looking for a good monitor that is fully adjustable, this is the one for you.I spent quite a bit of time researching all different monitors trying to figure out which would be best suited for me. I am going to school for graphic design and computer science so I wanted a monitor that had accurate color reproduction but could also pivot for when I am coding. As far as being adjustable, this monitor is a beast. It can pivot, swivel, be height adjusted, etc. The only design flaw that bothers me is that there is a cut out in the neck of the monitor for cords (to clean up any cable mess that may ensue) and when you go to pivot the monitor into portrait mode the cords can restrict that if there isn’t enough slack. Not a huge deal but definitely something to take note of if you’re going to be constantly changing the orientation of the monitor. The unit has a plethora of I/O, but one thing that is missing is an HDMI port. Surely I knew this when I bought it, but I must have forgotten cause I was pretty bummed a few weeks ago when I went to plug in something via HDMI and I couldn’t.Build quality is pretty good, though I did notice some give in the bezel of the monitor in a couple places. Upon further inspection there were some small gaps between the bezel and the actual screen panel. Nothing noticeable when you’re sitting down and using the monitor, but still worth mentioning. There is a little bit of backlight show through in the lower left corner on my unit, but that’s to be expected with this type of screen technology. The viewing angles are outstanding, as is the overall screen panel. Great refresh rate, great colors after you tweak them (we’ll get to that in a moment), and doesn’t take up a whole lot of room on your desk.Out of the box the colors on this unit were slightly yellow… I had received the dreaded A00 rev. Most people recommend returning the unit because they can never get the yellow to completely go away, but with some tweaking I was able to get it fairly close to my 15″ Retina Macbook Pro screen colors. If you end up getting an A00 unit, I’d say the decision is up to you: you can return it and hopefully get a different version that doesn’t have this yellow tint problem, or spend an hour or so tweaking the color profile until it works for you.All in all I would recommend this monitor in a heartbeat. For the price you’re getting a seriously good monitor. It doesn’t have the best build quality or the thinnest bezels, and you may have to tweak your color profile out of the box, but it’s worth it for the high quality panel plus all of the adjustable features that it provides.Pros:- Pivot screen- Great viewing angles- Overall high quality panelCons:- May get a unit with a yellow tint- No HDMI- Build quality is only good, not great

I bought this monitor to use in portrait mode and I was extremely pleased to find that its picture quality in portrait mode is exactly the same as in landscape mode, which is uncommon. The P2414H has one of the narrowest bezels available in a 24″ which also lended itself well to my application. It has a business-class non-reflective screen surface which I prefer. Startup sync is nearly instantaneous via DisplayPort. Overall image quality is quite good.I liked that the OSD can be rotated to portrait mode, although it doesn’t work automatically via a rotation sensor, that would have been a nice plus. I’m using the integrated USB hub for mouse and keyboard and it works fine.Included cables comprise a USB host-to-target for the built-in USB hub, a DisplayPort, and an analog VGA. A snap-on plastic cover is also included which masks the cable connections on the back of the monitor which helps cosmetically if people can see the back.I would give this unit 5 stars except for some reason Dell failed to include sRGB compliance in the image presets. I notice the P2414H is Windows Logo’d, and I thought that sRGB was required for Windows logo. sRGB in presets is a quick way to set up 6500K color temperature and 2.2 gamma, so in situations where I can’t use a real color calibrator I like to have sRGB preset so I don’t have to fiddle with color and contrast settings. Dell supplies an ICM profile with their “monitor driver” download, but it has only one profile for “P2414H D6500” rather than multiple profiles for the different color presets available via the OSD, and it’s unclear exactly what settings the ICM profile corresponds to, so it’s essentially useless.Note that the monitor has internal sound, but no speakers unless you purchase the optional soundbar. I only mention this because plugging in the P2414H will automatically set it as your primary sound device and you won’t hear anything since there are no speakers. My sound going away puzzled me for a moment until I noticed the monitor had enumerated and audio device.

I bought one of these monitors from Microcenter back in December and it worked pretty well for me. It was recently determined that I will be working from home indefinitely, so I decided I wanted another one of these monitors to make my setup ideal. Microcenter stopped selling this model and I really wanted to have the same one because I’m obsessive about symmetry. Thankfully this seller on Amazon still has them in stock. The monitor arrived quickly and in the official Dell box. Got it attached to the desk mount and working within minutes. Art of my job involves a lot of data entry on a huge list, so the portrait mode has worked out really well for me. I have the monitors plugged in with DVI to HDMI cables. One goes to the back of my laptop and the other goes to a USB 3.0 docking station. The setup is working perfectly so far.

Good build quality, descent display (no dead pixels and minimum ips glow), 1080p resolution. No ghosting in movies and games.Had DP connection problem with my R9 280x so I send it back one day after monitor arrived (common problem with 24xx series of dell monitors, found multiple examples on google).Overall descent monitor but a bit expensive on par with other competing monitors.
